From a New York Times–bestselling master with over one million copies in print Prosecutor Butch Karp hunts a psychopath targeting the innocent.

He is the Bogeyman a remorseless monster stalking the streets of New York in search of fresh victims—his chosen prey being children.

The killings are ghastly enough to shock lawyer Butch Karp, who thought he’d already seen the absolute worst of humanity in his work. So when a child abuse case and a homicide case seem to be connected, Karp and his colleague Marlene Ciampi find themselves delving into the darkest corners of New York’s underworld.

Their chosen prey? A cold-blooded predator whose twisted work has only just begun—and whose true motives will force Karp to decide how far he is truly willing to go to stop the horror.

Known to his fans as “one hell of a writer,” (New York Post) Robert K. Tanenbaum lends truthful, gritty authenticity to his legal thrillers as one of the most successful prosecuting attorneys in America, having convicted hundreds of violent criminals. This is one of the most intense and haunting of the popular series that includes Infamy, Tragic, and No Lesser Plea.

This ebook features an illustrated biography of Robert K. Tanenbaum including rare photos from the author’s personal collection.

Immoral Certainty The Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi Series Book 3 eBook Robert K Tanenbaum

Tanenbaum returns with Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi - two NY ADA's, in love and working the for famed NY prosecutor's office. This installment in the long running series begins with a petty burgler, Felix Tighe who assaults a NY police officer when he is caught climbing down a fire escape with stolen goods. Tighe is a low life with dreams of the fast life.

At the same time Ciampi catches the case of a seven year old girl found dead in a trash bag outside her building. Ciampi sees abuse and charges Mom. But Karp tells her to ask more questions and Ciampi finds hidden horror.

Another crime comes front and center when a local mob guy is hit and the wheel man runs and contacts Karp.

Church connected day care, corrupt judges, local mafiosos, and demonic sacrifice combine for a disparate story. The child sexual abuse angle is tough to read and leaves the reader skirming.

Not the best book in the series but moves the storyline along. If you are a reader of the series, you will miss some critical information if you skip this but not strongly recommended for content alone.

Immoral Certainty The Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi Series Book 3 eBook Robert K Tanenbaum Reviews

Almost all of Tannenbaum's novels are exciting and well written. One of my favorite authors!
An excellent book. I had never seen this one in any book store. I have read all the others so far published.
It was an interesting plot line but was overly politically “preachy” in my estimation. I am sure that was Clinton’s part of the book process and frankly the book didn’t need that.
On time and filled in a gap in my Tannenbaum books.
I loved the story, true and gritty, and Butch Karp and Marlene, who kept working and fighting even after being bombed and harmed.
Butch and Marlene take us into the inner workings of a big city legal system with this gut-wrenching tale of child abuse and societal facades.
They both face cases that challenge their best detective skills and their lives.
The ending is particularly satisfying.
Immoral Certainty is another Tanenbaum winner!
This is one of his very early books--he and Marlene are only dating and the kids have not yet arrived. It is a really fun read. I think the author may have had more passion for writing back then than he does now. His newfound excitement was on display. It was also fun to see what a wild woman Marlene was during the pre-marriage days.
